Future Fins—the Future of Board Control

When the Longo brothers began making fins in their garage in 1996, they had no way of knowing that their backyard project would one day become one of the biggest fin company in the world. Future Fins started small, but today is arguably the most trusted removable fin system in surfing. Founded on the desire to make fins for surfers—not for investors—Future has remained true to its roots, and Future Fin boxes can be seen in thousands if not millions of boards owned by both beginners and pros alike.

Today, Future is based in Huntington Beach, in the heart of Surf City and the global surf industry. With one of the most trusted, stable fin boxes on the market, and an innovative line of fins ranging from high performance shortboards to longboards, keels, and SUPS, this system will continue to lead the industry into the future. Join the movement and check out the latest series of fins available.

 BlackStix Series:

The BlackStix series is the staple when it comes to finding fins that give you speed and drive. The series features fins that maintain ride numbers of 7 to 10 in Future’s speed generating range, meaning they are built for acceleration and flow. Updated technology and an engineered layup make these a must-have for anyone addicted to speed. BlackStix fins include the F4, AM1, Rob Machado, JC1, EA, R1, ANDO and F8 models.

Generation Series:  Good for small waves

The Generation fin line combines the speed of the BlackStix fins with a touch more control. Drawing on a V2 foil and uni-fiberglass/carbon construction plus epoxy resin, they provide acceleration with more tip flex, making them a fast yet user-friendly fin. Models include the …Lost Grom, HS3, HS2, Roberts Medium, Stamps, F6, Solus, HS1, and Roberts Large.

Alpha Series: Good all around inexpensive fins Small to Medium Size Surf

The Alpha series is carbon like you have never seen it. The new and improved Compound 6 material has infused carbon and air, making it strong and light. Modified flow texture reduces drag, and redesigned flex makes the tips of the fins springy and lively. The steel molds for this upgraded balanced ride fin series are built at home in Huntington Beach, ensuring quality control. Models in the Alpha range providing a balance ride include the F4, F6, and F8.

Honeycomb Series: Medium to Big Surf

The Honeycomb series is the largest line of fins, and offers lightweight construction with the strength and resilience Future has become known for. These fins are designed for a balanced ride when generating speed isn’t an issue, but you aren’t exactly going Mach. Models include the F2, John John X-small, AM3, F4, Jordy Smith Small, AM1, Josh Mulcoy, …Lost Medium, WCT, Jordy Smith Medium, R3, F6, Firewire 5-fin, Super 5-fin, AM2, F8, …Lost Large, SA4, and Jordy Smith Large.

TechFlex Series: Med to Big Surf

The TechFlex series is exactly what it sounds like—the marriage of cutting-edge technology and superior flex characteristics to give you a speed control fin that will keep you on point on the bigger, faster, hollower days. Models include the John John Small, F4, WCT, YU, John John Medium, EA, AM2 and John John Large.

Fiberglass Series: Med to Big Surf

Fiberglass fins are for serious waves, where control is a factor and speed is a non-issue. These heavier, stiffer fins aren’t going to provide the acceleration that the other series do, but that doesn’t matter, because if you are using them, you’re probably riding big waves or draining barrels. Models include the F4, AM1, JC1, EA, Twiggy Gun, and Pancho Sullivan.
