HAWAIIAN SOUTH SHORE ADDS KELLY SLATER AND ROB MACHADO FIREWIRE’S TO ITS QUIVER

Here at Hawaiian South Shore, we like to stay on top of the latest advancements in board design and construction. From carbon rails and memory flex to the most cutting-edge fins in the industry, if it’s high-tech and high-performance, we probably carry it. So, it is a no-brainer that we would want to carry Firewire boards, which have been an industry leader in strength, weight, and sustainability for over a decade.

As of June 2018, Firewire surfboards have been added to the Hawaiian South Shore quiver—and we are pretty excited about the models on our rack! Kelly Slater bought into Firewire a couple of years ago, and now produces various Slater Designs with the Firewire technology—including the Cymatic, Gamma, Omni, and Sci-Fi. Numerous world tour surfers have been seen on these boards, including Stu Kennedy and Kelly Slater himself. When it comes to thinking outside the box to develop the latest in high-performance shred sticks, this is about as good as it gets.

Rob Machado has also joined the team at Firewire as a shaper/designer and has his own range of boards. His GoFish is a high-tech twist on the retro fish, while the Moonbeam, Midas, and Creeper are hybrids that combine the functionality of modern performance boards with the user-friendly volume and outlines of trim-happy older designs. For the everyday surfer looking for fun in everyday conditions, Machado’s boards punch the ticket. Whether you are looking to improve your vertical attack or simply find a new way to keep your surfing fresh during the summer doldrums, Firewire has you covered—and we have your next Firewire! Stop by the store to check out the new additions to our quiver and see what all the hype is about!
