"Performance Small Wave Board" -JS
Model: Sub Xero. A shorter, fatter, scaled-down version of JS’s ultimate shredstick, built to facilitate performance in less-powerful waves.
Ability: Intermediate to advanced shortboarders looking to take their groveling to the next level.
Type of waves: Weak, flat, waist- to chest-high+ waves that require a bit of extra volume.
Fin setup: FCSII and Future thruster, quad, or five-fin.
Construction: The JS Xero is available in either traditional polyurethane or Hyfi/EPS construction.
Description: The Sub Xero combines the performance elements of JS’s Xero with the shorter, stubbier, summer groveler the Psycho Nitro. The low to virtually flat rocker provides tons of speed down the line, while the pulled in nose and tail (ala the Xero) gives this short, thick groveler less swing weight, which facilitates bigger, crisper turns. Vee under the nose gives the board good rail-to-rail transitions, while a single to double concave through the tail provides lift, drive, and maneuverability off the back foot. While many grovelers get stuck in the “too much foam to fly” trap, the Sub Xero is designed to provide as much performance as possible in waist-high waves.
