The Monsta has always been one of JS’s most popular boards, which explains why it has gone through so many generations of tweaks and updates. The most recent was the Monsta 2020, which, as one might imagine, was updated right at the start of the COVID-19 lockdown. Since then, the team at JS has continued to refine this quiver killer—and they recently announced the release of the latest version, the Monsta 10.

Picking up where the Monsta 2020 left off, the Monsta 10 features slightly deeper concave between the feet and through the fins, which creates more lift, drive, and maneuverability. As a complement to this adjustment, the nose and tail rockers have been accentuated slightly, allowing the rider to tap into the extra speed created by the concave and channel it into high-performance turns.

During the R&D process, this particular design was the group favorite, largely for the fact that it flows well from section to section and allows for easy turns in the pocket. JS Surfboards have been an industry leader for decades, and the Monsta is arguably one of the best shortboards on the market. With the latest update, this modern classic is even better than before.
