CJ NELSON "GUERRERO"
COLLABOTATION BOARD WITH EDEN SAUL OF DEAD KOOKS
After decades of riding the best traditional log shapes and establishing himself as one of the world’s greatest noseriders, CJ Nelson was looking for something new. He teamed up with Eden Saul, who borrowed a handful of design elements from the Australian “involvement log” shapes to create something that noserides like a beast but is also snappy and hotdoggable from the tail. A slightly narrower nose and wider hips provides that down-the-line speed and maneuverability, while the deep concave up front lends itself to fast, critical noserides in the pocket. The addition of Thunderbolt Technology makes this already rippable board even snappier, allowing CJ to take traditional ripping to the next level. The Guerrero is best in waist- to head-high waves, which are the exact conditions CJ rode the board to back-to-back victories in at the Duct Tape Invitational and Mexilog Fest at Saladita in 2017.
Utilizes an EPS closed cell foam with a T-shaped fiberglass stringer that is placed strategically so the board has flex on the Nose and Twist on the Tail. Flex on the nose for more control when you nose-ride. Twist on the tail for speed and better turning.
Believe or not, after years of testing and time trails, Thunderbolt Technologies discovered having a tail with twist and flex speeds up the board. That is way so many are surprised the boards are fast enough to handle surfing North Shore.
Surfs like regular fiberglass. No corky funky feeling like the other epoxy boards.
Slightly lighter than fiberglass, but designed to flex in strategic parts of the board for performance.
Much more DURABILITY than any other board in the world!
