The Monsta Box is the perfect combination of two stellar designs. It takes the rocker and outlines of the Monsta 6 and the Blak Box 2 and splits the difference, resulting in a board that has ample volume but keeps it hidden. This allows it to thrive in average conditions, but also be surfed in solid, high-performance waves. It is fast and maneuverable, and the addition of a squash tail gives the board more release off the snap, resulting in a top-notch high-performance groveler that doesnāt bog when the waves turn on.
The Monsta Box comes with a stock thruster setup, and is the go-to board for Australian phenom Mikey Wright (the hard-charging brother of Owen and Tyler). Other team riders with this board in their quivers include Adrian Buchan, Dusty Payne, Joel Parkinson, and Owen Wright. Whether competing in a jersey or going for a free surf, the Monsta Box with a squash tail is a reliable tool for these tour stalwarts, and is just as forgiving and rippable for the average surfer as well. Rocker has been tweaked to provide a more generous sweet spot, which easily generates speed, allows you to control big turns, and balances release out of the lip. Overall height is the same as the original magic Monsta 8 ā the curve has just been pushed more to the ends of the board, similar to our changes from Monsta Box toĀ #MonstaBox2020.
