🌴 Hawaiian Tradition | It's Palm Tree Pruning Season Again This Year 🌴
💚 Important work before storm season
It's noisy outside since morning...?
I peered out and saw them cutting the leaves off the palm trees at the neighboring museum.
🌬 Preparation before storm season
During storm season, it can be dangerous if the leaves aren't cut early.
I call them "leaves," but they're not that cute at all‼️
They're completely like "wood." And they're thick and hard😱
If one of those fell from above, it would cause a serious injury.
But isn't it a bit late?
It's already February, and there have been strong winds...
🤸 Used to be like acrobatics
In the old days (up until about 5 years ago),
nimble old men with safety ropes would climb up and cut them.
What's amazing is that they would jump from tree to tree 😳
It was like watching an acrobatic show.
It was a sight I could watch forever 😁
🚛 A dedicated shredder truck?
People waiting below would continuously put the fallen leaves into a dedicated vehicle.
They would be pulverized inside. What a convenient vehicle!
It's different from a garbage truck...?
Is this a Hawaii thing?
Everyone, please be careful when walking under palm trees 🌴
