New Udon Restaurant Izakaya

🏮 I visited a new Udon & Izakaya restaurant 🏮
When you think of udon in Hawaii, Marugame is probably the first thing that comes to mind. There's always an insane line😱 I heard that Hawaii has the highest sales of all Marugame locations‼️
Seeing that line, I can somewhat understand why. ...That being said, I've actually never been there myself🤣
@yonpachi_hawaii|Avoiding Waikiki for a new restaurant
I want to eat udon. But I don't want to go to Waikiki, and there's no parking🅿️.
That's right, I heard there was a new udon restaurant that recently opened, so I immediately came to check it out‼️
The interior feels more like an izakaya (Japanese pub) than an "udon restaurant." There's a wide variety of menu items, with plenty of snacks and appetizers.
Since I don't drink alcohol, I just had udon.
What I ordered & Exquisite Kakiage
Whenever D comes to an udon restaurant, he always orders curry udon. I had kake udon with kakiage, chikuwa, and tamago-ten.
This kakiage was exquisite‼️👍
It had plenty of onions, just the way I like it❤️
...And here's where I realized I don't have a picture of the udon😨
I'm still an Instagram beginner🔰, I guess🤣
Unexpected Sendai Shiro in Hawaii
D suddenly said one thing.
"Huh? Sendai Shiro is here."
You're right‼️ It's my first time seeing one in Hawaii.
Actually, we also have a Sendai Shiro displayed in our shop's office. In Sendai, he's known as the "God of Fortune for Business Prosperity," and a friend gave it to me as a gift.
And then it became clear.
The owner of the restaurant was from Sendai.
Taste check from a Kansai local's perspective
Even for me, a Kansai native picky about dashi (broth), The dashi was so delicious, I wanted to drink it all up👍
The udon was more like Sanuki udon. For me, who prefers the soft udon of Kansai, it was a bit firm.
