The DRK is built for quality surf — punchy, round, and with real power. It comes alive in head-high to a little overhead conditions where the wave has shape and energy to work with, and responds best when the wave is nuggety and round rather than walled and sectiony. The pulled-in tail and forward wide point make it quick and precise, which works in your favor when the wave offers a tight section or a critical lip line, and demands engagement when it doesn't. On flatter, weaker days there are better tools for the job. When the surf is good and you want to surf your best, this is the board.

The DRK shares its DNA with the FRK — same bottom contours, same rocker, same fin cluster — but Dan Mann made two deliberate changes to tighten the shape for Kelly. The first was adjusting the rail and foil to sit more balanced under his chest. The second was pushing the wide point forward, which pulls in the back half of the board into a more elliptical, narrower outline leading to the tail. A narrower tail means more sensitivity underfoot and a smaller margin for error — the board reads your input more precisely and responds faster, which amplifies good surfing and exposes hesitation. The result is a cleaner, more pulled-in version of the FRK's silhouette with a round pintail that holds and drives through steep sections and critical turns.

Built in Ibolic with Volcanic lamination, the Revo Max is Firewire's most durable and responsive construction combination. The I-beam EPS core stiffens the board underfoot while high-density parabolic rails allow the board to flex and recoil through turns. The Volcanic basalt fiber lamination adds the response characteristics of carbon with better durability and a significantly lower environmental impact than traditional carbon cloth. In the water, this combination feels lively and immediate — quick to respond to weight shifts and efficient at transferring energy through turns.

Ibolic 2.0: An I-beam core construction with high-density foam running through the stringer channel and parabolic rails controlling flex from nose to tail, finished with a carbon strip inlay on the bottom deck for added rigidity and a reinforced fiberglass lamination.
