This is the board for surfers who don't want to choose between trim and turns.

The HI4 is built for the wide middle of longboard surf — it starts working in knee-to-thigh-high waves and only gets better as the surf builds. The continual high-performance rocker, with a slight flip in the last six inches of the tail, keeps the board controlled in the pocket on bigger days, while the wider nose and even rocker through the middle let it glide and trim through softer sections that would stall a tighter performance shape. Riders consistently report taking the HI4 out in surf well over head and finding it still locked in. Hawaii's mix of clean small-wave longboard days and bigger, lined-up swells covers the exact range this board was designed around.

Billy Tolhurst shaped the HI4 by taking Harley's two-time world tour HIHP outline and tuning it for everyday surf. The board is wider all the way through, with a more curvaceous plan shape between the feet that loosens it up and makes it noticeably easier to turn off the tail. The continual HP rocker carries through most of the board, then flips in the last six inches of the tail to keep the tip out of the way on vertical maneuvers and hold the board in the pocket on steeper drops. A long teardrop nose concave, set behind the nose flip, paired with the wider nose itself, is what makes the HI4 the easiest noserider in the HI Series — there's a defined platform up front that catches and holds when you step forward. The 4+1 fin box layout opens the door to riding it as a single fin, a 2+1, a quad, or a tri — different conditions, different setups, same board.

Thunderbolt Red: Hand-laminated EPS foam core with carbon fiber internal flex components, finished with 6oz and 2oz fiberglass top and bottom. Medium rebound rate, balanced and predictable, built to perform across a wide range of conditions.
