Fiberglass hand Lamination
Traditional Weight & performance Flex
Hand-Crafted

Thunderbolt Silver was developed to deliver a well-balanced combination of traditional performance, flex, and durability. The Silver blank includes internal fiberglass flex components and is hand-laminated with 6oz and 2oz fiberglass cloth on both the top and bottom. While Thunderbolt Silver offers the most “traditional” feel among our technologies, it still provides the highest level of flex—boosting performance well beyond that of standard PU boards. Its versatility and predictability make it suitable for a wide range of wave conditions and skill levels. If you love the classic feel of a traditional PU surfboard but want to enhance its performance, Thunderbolt Silver is an excellent choice.

CJ NELSON'S ORACLE FAQS

What inspired the Oracle's design?

In 2016, Thomas Campbell lent CJ his Skip Frye Eagle to help him get through the Santa Cruz summer. At the time, CJ's glider experience was minimal, aside from riding his father's 10'3" Phil Edwards Waikiki. The speed and glide of the Eagle changed his outlook on what longboards could and should feel like. He was hooked on the flow, but envisioned a glider that could also noseride, pivot, and slash.

What are the key performance features?

The Oracle features:

  • Generous rocker to reduce hangups
  • Performance rails for enhanced maneuverability
  • Concave nose for improved control
  • Tail flip for noseriding capabilities
  • Lightweight glass job for enhanced responsiveness

What makes the Oracle different from other gliders?

Most gliders are notoriously difficult to maneuver, but the Oracle breaks that mold. While traditional gliders are point-and-shoot boards, the Oracle has been transformed into a well-rounded, performance-driven longboard that can noseride, pivot, and slash - turning a novelty board into a daily driver.

How does it differ from traditional point-and-shoot gliders?

Traditional gliders are typically point-and-shoot novelty boards. The Oracle transforms this concept by enabling the board to noseride, pivot, and slash, making it function as a daily driver rather than just a specialty board.

What was CJ's experience with gliders before the Oracle?

CJ's glider experience was minimal before 2016, aside from riding his father's 10'3" Phil Edwards Waikiki. The experience of riding Thomas Campbell's Skip Frye Eagle changed his perspective on what longboards could achieve.
