New Surf Gear at Hawaiian South Shore — Aloha Friday March 06

Fresh stock just landed at our Honolulu surf shop. This week: Lost Surfboards in stock, new HSS Rashguards, Vertra sunscreen, new Scott Sandal colors, and a limited 1-week Spring Special where buying Florence Marine X boardshorts gets you 10% off select gear. Order by 5:30 PM and it ships tonight.

Lost Surfboards — In Stock

Two of Lost Surfboards' most popular shapes are on the floor right now. Both boards are shaped by Matt Biolos and represent the high-performance end of what his label does best — boards that work in everyday surf but have enough range to push into critical situations.

Lost RNF 96 Lightspeed II

Lost RNF 96 Lightspeed II surfboard by Matt Biolos in stock at Hawaiian South Shore Honolulu

The RNF 96 is a refined version of one of Lost's longest-running shapes. The 96 outline fills in the nose and widens the hip, giving you a more forgiving platform with better paddle power than the standard RNF. The Lightspeed II construction uses a lightweight EPS core wrapped in a high-density fiberglass laminate that delivers a lively, responsive flex pattern without sacrificing durability.

This is a board that works well for surfers stepping up from mid-range performance shapes or those wanting a high-performance shortboard that doesn't demand perfect waves to function. It moves through flat sections and responds quickly on the rail.

Best For: Intermediate to advanced surfers looking for a high-performance everyday board with extra paddle volume

Lost The Ripper Double Dart

Lost The Ripper Double Dart surfboard in stock at Hawaiian South Shore surf shop Honolulu

The Ripper is Matt Biolos's tighter, more performance-oriented shortboard. The Double Dart tail outline creates a pulled-in, narrower exit that releases quickly off the top and generates projection through turns. It's a board built for surfers who want to generate speed through their own movement rather than relying on wide, forgiving outlines.

This shape rewards committed, top-to-bottom surfing. The narrower nose and refined rails require active engagement but return speed and drive when pushed correctly. If the RNF 96 is your all-conditions board, the Ripper is your performance session board.

Best For: Advanced surfers in punchy, high-performance beach break conditions who want a reactive, snappy ride

HSS Fitted Rashguard with Back Pocket — New

Hawaiian South Shore's own fitted rashguard is now available in four styles. The standout feature is a back pocket — practical and thoughtful for anyone who spends real time in the water and needs a secure spot for a key or card. The fitted cut reduces drag and bunching, which matters on longer sessions.

Available Styles

All four styles carry a New badge — these just arrived this week. The long sleeve options give full arm coverage for sun protection, and the short sleeve version works well in warmer conditions or as a base layer.

HSS Exclusive Fins

Two fins worth noting this week — one with real visual character, the other a workhorse utility fin that's been out of stock for a while.

Takayama DT Flex Fin — Acid Splash

Takayama DT Flex Fin 9-10 Acid Splash Black White Red longboard fin at Hawaiian South Shore

The Takayama DT Flex Fin is designed to complement Donald Takayama's classic longboard shapes. The DT series uses a flexible tip construction that generates a smooth, flowing feel through long, drawn-out cutbacks and nose-riding sequences. The Acid Splash colorway — black, white, and red — is one of the more striking fin finishes available in a traditional longboard single-fin format.

This fin is sized for 9–10 foot boards and fits standard longboard boxes. If you're riding a Takayama shape or any classic single-fin longboard and want a fin with flex and character, this is a strong option.

Best For: Longboarders riding 9–10 ft single-fin shapes looking for smooth flex and a standout look

HSS Small Box Center Fin 3.5" — Back in Stock

HSS Small Box Center Fin 3.5 inch Black back in stock at Hawaiian South Shore surf shop

The HSS Small Box Center Fin at 3.5 inches is a utility fin for quad or twin setups that use a small center box. It provides just enough hold and direction to settle down a loose setup without killing pivot or speed. This is a fin that disappears into your quiver and solves a specific problem cleanly. Back in stock after being out for a stretch.

Best For: Quad or twin riders who want a center fin option for added control in larger surf

Vertra Face Stick Sunscreen — New

Vertra makes sunscreen specifically for surfers — products that stay on in water, don't sting the eyes when you wipe out, and don't leave a white residue across your face. These two new face sticks are tinted beige, which means they blend in rather than standing out, and they apply cleanly without a greasy finish.

Vertra Face Stick SPF 38 — Ehukai Beige

Vertra Face Stick SPF 38 Ehukai Beige sunscreen for surfers at Hawaiian South Shore Honolulu

The Ehukai Beige is named after one of the North Shore's most iconic breaks and tinted to match a natural skin tone. At SPF 38 it provides solid UV protection for typical session lengths. The stick format is compact and easy to reapply between sessions — no cap to lose, no mess. Water-resistant formula developed with surfers in mind.

Best For: Surfers who want reliable daily-use sun protection without a heavy white-cast finish

Vertra Face Stick SPF 35 — Mick Fanning Coolangatta Beige

Vertra Face Stick SPF 35 Mick Fanning Coolangatta Beige signature sunscreen at Hawaiian South Shore

The Mick Fanning signature shade is the Coolangatta Beige — named after Fanning's home break on the Gold Coast of Australia. This is the stick he uses, and the beige tint is calibrated to blend cleanly without leaving a visible residue. SPF 35 with a water-resistant formula. The Mick Fanning collaboration brings some credibility to what's already a solid product.

Best For: Surfers who want a pro surfer-endorsed option with a natural finish and reliable water resistance
