New Arrival: Takayama DT Flex Fin
Takayama DT Flex Fin (9" – 10")
The Donald Takayama Flex Fin delivers what most single fins can't: the quick pivot response you need for direction changes and the hold and drive you want for committed nose rides. This isn't a compromise between two styles—it's a template Donald designed to deliver both.
What makes the Flex Fin different? The bottom two-thirds of the fin uses an upright pivot-style template for quick turns. The top third rakes back significantly, creating resistance that holds your board steady when you walk to the nose. You get maneuverability without sacrificing control.
Every Takayama Flex Fin is handcrafted by Larry Allison in California. Larry has been making Donald Takayama's fin templates for over 30 years, using techniques he's been perfecting since 1971. The construction includes 29 layers of 7.5-ounce fiberglass—not the 4 oz or 6 oz cloth used in mass-produced fins. The spine is positioned at 25% from the leading edge for lift and improved water release, with a hand-foiled trailing edge and tip that Larry describes as "almost a dying art."
Due to the flex characteristics, a 9.5" Flex Fin will feel more like a 9" conventional fin in the water—you can run slightly more depth without feeling over-finned.
Best For: Longboarders who want nose-riding hold with pivot-turn capability

Thunderbolt Surfboards Back in Stock
Four popular Thunderbolt construction boards are back in stock this week—three from Harley Ingleby and one from UK shaper Ben Skinner. Thunderbolt's advanced construction delivers durability and performance that traditional boards can't match.
Harley Ingleby MID 6 Mini Twin
The Mid 6 Mini Twin is a mid-length surfboard designed for maximum performance in all wave types. It features similar width and volume to the popular 7'0, but at a couple of inches shorter, it offers a more curvy plan shape for tighter pockets—making it the perfect size to release as a twin fin.
The 6'10 Mid 6 Twin is specifically designed to pair with the FCS2 Power Twin fin set, which Harley designed for FCS and has become one of their most popular twin fin sets. Key features include a fine, round pin tail, smooth rocker with nose flip, high nose rails that transition to mid tucked and low hard in the tail, and six perfectly blended channels for immediate response and acceleration.
This board performs well in both everyday and serious surf, breaking the stereotype that channel bottoms are only good in clean waves.
Best For: Surfers wanting twin-fin speed with mid-length stability

Harley Ingleby G6 Thunderbolt Black
The G6 is a high-performance shortboard designed for good surf in the chest-high plus range. It features a unique continual rocker, a straighter tail with a longer increased nose lift than the HP rocker, and six channels that make it an acceleration machine. The squash tail design provides increased pivot points and turn release, making it ideal for intense surfing conditions.
Key benefits include enhanced performance in chest-high plus range surf, increased speed and maneuverability, and the ability to handle intense surfing conditions. For fins, we recommend the FCS Harley XL tri set in regular conditions, or the FCS Harley XL quad set in larger open faces or hollow surf.
Best For: Advanced surfers seeking speed and maneuverability in quality waves

Harley Ingleby MOE Thunderbolt Black
Released in 2022, the Harley Ingleby MOE quickly gained recognition for its innovative design and versatility. This funboard is ideal for surfers who want to go shorter without losing paddling power. The MOE's design shifts volume back under the chest, making it easier to paddle while enhancing foot placement toward the tail for better control.
This feature reduces the need to shuffle around to find the sweet spot, making it a favorite among intermediate and advanced surfers. The pulled-in outline and wide tail enable smooth rail-to-rail transitions, making it responsive and dynamic. It performs well in a range of wave conditions, from knee-high to 3' overhead, and is particularly suited for small to medium waves.
Best For: Intermediate to advanced surfers looking for a versatile funboard

Ben Skinner Skindog OG Double Scoop
The Double Scoop is a bold new design that redefines the modern noserider. Inspired by the way water flows over the tail during a noseride, this board offers enhanced lift and control on the nose while still allowing smooth, responsive turns from the tail. It combines traditional glide with modern maneuverability—delivering style, function, and versatility across a variety of conditions.
A standout feature is its unique "spoiler effect"—a flipped deck line and deep double concave through the rear third of the board. This design channels water across the deck and into the flipped tail, holding more water and creating additional lift and speed control. Drawing on Ben's passion for Formula 1, the board uses hydrodynamics to achieve downforce for nose lift. When stepping back from the nose, the pulled-in tail and concave behind the fin deliver sharper, more powerful turns.
Best For: Longboarders who want nose-riding performance with modern turning capability

Futures Fins Restocked
Four popular Futures fin sets are back in stock this week, including Dave Rastovich's signature designs and John John Florence's World Championship template.
Futures TWIN+1 Rasta Reverse
As Dave Rastovich showed on his recent Electric Acid Surfboard Test, the Rasta Reverse 3/2 Twin + 1 is designed to surf your favorite twin board at full throttle. The "Reverse 3/2" refers to the twist in the foil through the top third of the fin, adding an additional 3 degrees of cant and 2 degrees less toe.
The Reverse aspect means the toe angle straightens only in the tip, creating two separate foil surfaces—one at the base and one at the tip—both featuring Futures' proprietary Vector foil. This unique design keeps the fin engaged on rail, creating tons of drive, speed, and grip. Pedal to the metal!
Best For: Twin-fin surfers who want maximum drive and speed
Futures QUAD Rasta Honeycomb
The Rasta Quad, designed by Australian freesurfing icon Dave Rastovich, is a versatile set that suits almost any quad option board. The honeycomb construction combined with Futures' V2-Foil on the front fins creates a looser feel, allowing for high-speed surfing and quick direction changes.
This is a Medium Quad (145-175 lbs) with a balanced ride number of 7.7, suitable for all wave types and all conditions.
Best For: Quad riders seeking versatility and loose, high-speed performance
Futures THRUSTER John John Techflex (Large)
The John John (L) Techflex is a large size thruster in the Neutral template category. This template is a scaled-up version of the Medium template that John John Florence rode exclusively to back-to-back World Championships.
John rides this template in his small wave boards that feature a wider tail and require more lift from his fins. The Techflex construction and flat foil give this fin a stable feel, making it ideal for controlling speed in more powerful waves.
Best For: Larger surfers (175+ lbs) who want John John's proven World Championship template

Futures QUAD Controller Honeycomb Bamboo
The Controller Quad is a split keel setup designed specifically for use in wide tail fish designs. The honeycomb and bamboo construction, V2-Foil, and extra-large surface area are great for generating speed and maintaining it through a sequence of turns.
With the upright template of the quad rears, there's a skatey feel to the set that's similar to a twin keel, but with more control.
Best For: Fish and wide-tail riders who want keel-style speed with quad control
