Thank you so much for always checking out our weekly Aloha Friday newsletter. It's our little roundup of everything that's been happening at the shop, and I love sharing it with you every week.
Weekend Surf Looking Good! 🌊
Checked the surf forecast for this weekend. We've got south-southwest swell holding through Friday at decent levels, then dropping off this weekend. Saturday's looking like the better day with a second swell bumping things up a bit. North and west shores staying average into Friday, then back to normal Sunday into next week.
You should see all the boards that came into the shop this week! We're absolutely stocked, and I'm equally stoked about all the surf accessories that rolled in. What really gets me excited though is seeing so many people ordering online.
I know parking around the shop can be a real pain sometimes, so when you order online, we send it straight to you! Most of the time, if you're on Oahu, you'll get it the next day. Neighbor islands usually take about two days. We drop our mail orders off at the main post office in the evening, so they get moving as fast as possible.
Quick heads up for our regular visitors – you can park in the Long's Drugs building and just walk right down to us. But heads up, Long's is closing June 20th, so that parking situation might change.
Bringing Back the Aloha Friday Spirit 🌺
You know what's been on my mind lately? I think we need to bring back that old-school Aloha Friday spirit. Remember when people who worked at banks downtown, folks on the news, basically everyone would wear aloha shirts and muumuus on Fridays?
That whole thing started back in the '60s when the Hawaii Fashion Guild pushed for it, and by 1966 it was official. Even the president of Bank of Hawaii started wearing aloha shirts to work every Friday. It was such a cool way to end the week with some island style.
What if we could get that going again? Maybe if we all start showing a little more aloha in how we dress and treat each other, it'll spread. Small changes can make big waves, right?
