The New Kelly Slater Surfboard Fins - 'ENDORFINS'
Posted by DAVID KELLY
INTRODUCING ENDORFINS Kelly Slater has always been excited about board design and performance, and his signature fins have been a staple of the surf industry for over a decade. Slaterās K2.1 fin set the standard for maneuverable, high-performance, off-the-top surfing, while the K3 was slightly deeper and had less base, as well a smaller, more raked tip, which was ideal for line-up walls and big, arcing turns, such as what Slater does at spots like J-Bay. Ā Now KellyĀ Slater has combined the templates of the K2.1 and K3 to create the perfect all-round fin set that can be used on any type of board and in any conditions, from pumping waves to small, groveler conditions. John John Dominates Margaret River With Historic Performance The Rip Curl Bells Beach starts today, but the world (and the world tour) is still in shock from John John Florenceās performance last week at Margaret River. Main Break is notorious for being one of the most difficult waves in the world to surf well, and that point was proved time and again last week as the worldās best looked to be surfingā¦well, not quite at their best. The wonky, fat walls of Main Break simply donāt lend themselves to exciting, high-performance surfing, and more often than not leave competitors looking lost and uncoordinated. Unless those competitors are John John Florence, that is. John John put on a clinic at Margaret River that still has his competitors reeling. Even Kelly Slater acknowledge John Johnās mastery, stating, āI can assure you every surfer on tour is questioning either their talent or approach after watching that, and will all need to step up or step aside.ā Thatās a heavy statement from the greatest surfer of all time. So just how dominant was John Johnās performance? Well, numbers donāt lie, and the numbers from Margaret River were stratospheric. John John scored a āmeaslyā 13.67...
