Rob Machado’s and Dan Mann’s New Shaped Surfboard - Mashup
🚀 Charles demoed our Firewire Mashup and he is stoked on how fast the board worked. Check out his review here.
🚀 Macy Mullen, Hawaiian South Shore Team Rider, had tested the Mashup and here's his review.
Model: Mashup. A combination of two of Rob Machado and Dan Mann’s most popular designs (the Seaside and Spitfire, respectively), the Mashup is a groveler that surfs like a high-performance shortboard.
Ability: Intermediate and expert surfers will appreciate the Mashup’s volume and versatility on small, gutless days.
Type of waves: Small, weak waves that are best-suited to groveling, although the board’s tapered, step-down rails also allow it to work in head-high+ waves.
Fin setup: Five-fin in FCS II and Futures.
Construction: Firewire’s high-tech Helium construction for added strength without the added weight.
Description: A hybrid of Rob Machado and Dan Mann’s most popular models (the Seaside and the Spitfire), the Mashup is the ultimate volume-added groveler. Extra foam means more paddle power and speed down the line, even in the weakest of waves, but the specially designed step-down rails allow for hi-fi ripping in everyday conditions as well. The board blends the speed of the Seaside with the sharp turning radius and vertical capabilities of the Spitfire and is one of the most popular models in the Firewire quiver for 2022.
