It was good. I wish it was bigger out there, but I'm definitely considering buying it for my town over in San Diego. I went out to Canoes in the morning and at night. It was nice. It kept up with the logs with the twin-plus-one fins. It's pretty loose and fast. I didn't catch a good wave, but I could tell if I did, it would be sick. I'm 5'6" and 160 pounds. The volume was good. It was easy to paddle. I'm thinking about getting it again
Ordered a rental Boss Up board online and it was ready and put aside with my name on it upon arrival. I asked for a quad set up and they gladdly changed out the fins. Overall a great experience. Mahalo!
One of my favorite board s to have especially when the waves are bigger to medium size and with a good fin set up because it turns easy and it's fast down the line. Love it, mahalo Chykka for taking care of me.
I’m 5'9", 155 lbs, and I’ve been riding the 6'6" Boss Up. I started with the 2+1 setup, but switched to quads for more speed and release in smaller town waves. The board felt way faster and more responsive off the back foot—especially with smaller quad fins. It pivots great and still holds tight in bigger surf like Diamond Head and even Mansions. I like a rail-driven style, and this board fits that perfectly. Super stoked on it.
My name is Dustin, and I recently got a 7'4" Boss Up surfboard. I think the board is really great. I ride it on the West Side, and it's a super fun board to ride. It's very predictable, and I use it as a Thruster. I surf it in waves ranging from 2 to 6 feet. It's also a barrel magnet, which is awesome.
Got another excellent board, ease of paddling and catching waves and works good with a 2 plus 1 set up with a small fin at the back, feels like it's less drag and fast, mahalo.
After I demoed both the 7’2 and 7’6 Boss Up from HSS, I decided to get the 7’2 in Volcanic tech. The board paddles super good and catches waves very easily. I love riding this board when town gets around head high and lets you glide into the bigger sets better than any of my other boards. Been riding it as a quad and so far settled in on the Craig Andersen large front fins and the Hayden Shapes quad rear fins. While I’d likely ride something else when the waves are smaller, it’s nice that this board is up to the task and can handle a wide range of conditions. Big mahalo to Dave and the HSS crew for the excellent customer service and for ordering this board for me.

Hey, my name is Brandon. I'm based here in Manoa and I work for UH. I tried out Slater's new Boss Up model 7'6". I was most impressed with how quickly it can turn, almost on a dime. It's super lively and incredibly responsive. The down-the-line speed blew my mind - you can make sections that, as a 45-year-old, I wasn't making before. We surfed it at Diamond Head and Old Man's. It had great paddle power and it's so light. At Diamond Head, it was about chin to head high, maybe 3 to 4 feet plus. It was windy and choppy, which really tested the board's paddle power, and it held up well. You can catch almost anything on it. I used the Endor Fins with a 2+1 setup, with something small in the back for more speed. You can really whip this board around and maneuver it in unusual ways. I was shocked that I could catch waves at Old Man's where the sets were about 3 feet and thick. I'm 5'11" and weigh just under 180, about 177 pounds.
Great board - I’d recommend it to anyone looking for a “mid length” to their quiver.
Howzit I got the 6 6 boss-up from HSS last week been riding it at big rights quad fins, by far best mid length Ive owned! blows the mid-6 out the water cant wait to ride in it in bigger surf like in the video showing Michel Bourez in big surf. Mahalos Dave for getting me the board
Only surfed it once. Overhead surf, paddles great, turns exceptional for its size (length). Good for point breaks, looking forward to surfing it again, fun board.
Purchased the Boss-up thinking that it would be my summer mid length groveler. Turned out this board rides like a short board. It’s a wave catching machine.
Brand new board 1/2 buckled on 1st session. I did not wipe out on any wave. Only got caught inside a few times.
