One Step Further With Rob Machado’s Seaside and Beyond

Just when you thought Rob Machado couldn't do anything more…far out…he went and stretched his Seaside fish into a semi-mid-length fish-type thing. The “Seaside and Beyond” is Machado’s latest design, and if video footage of him surfing it at home in California is any indication, it’s a scream to ride.
Influenced by Skip Frye’s elongated fish, Machado began tinkering with stretching out his Go Fish surfboard but ended up finding the magic equation when he stretched out the Seaside. The Seaside and Beyond is a 7'0" quad that paddles into anything, glides through flat sections, and turns on a dime. Basically, it's a great way to have fun in waves ranging from ankle-high dribblers to overhead barrels. While the surfboard might be more conducive to high-lining than boosting, it can definitely be shredded—a fact that differentiates it from other mid-lengths that are basically just pared-down gliders.
As with the rest of Machado’s boards, the Seaside and Beyond Surfboard comes in Firewire technology, making it strong, lightweight, and relatively friendly for the environment. Combining the timeless style of Rob Machado and the modern tech of Firewire, this surfboard is unlike anything else in your quiver. But although we might never know exactly what this surfboard is, one thing’s for sure—it sure looks fun.
