The EZ-NUT is a tools free system for single fin surfboards. After experiencing lots of frustration with the traditional single fin plate and screw system, I decided to develop a solution. After a year of R&D, I'm proud to announce the EZ-NUT. It's the easiest way to install, remove, or reposition your single fin without the use of any tools.
From the start, longevity and durability were a central focus. We chose to build the EZ-NUT from 316 stainless steel to ensure it would last a lifetime. This material is extremely resistant to the rust and corrosion from salt water.
Compatibility was also a challenge. Single fins and single fin boxes have a variety of shapes and dimensions. The EZ-NUT has been tested on a wide range of fins and surfboards, and while it's impossible to guarantee universal compatibility, we're confident that the EZ-NUT will work for you.
How to Use
See our tutorial video here (at the end of the product photos). When you tighten your EZ-Nut be sure that your fin is fully seated in the fin box. Grab the tip of your fin and give it a wiggle. If the EZ-Nut is still tight, you're good to go. If not, tighten the nut and repeat until the nut stays tight.
For some fin and fin box combinations, the red o-ring near the base of the threaded screw must be removed. If you tighten the nut and your fin still slides front to back in your fin box, try removing the o-ring. The o-ring helps to absorb vibration and keep your nut tight, so if you must remove it, be sure to tighten your nut a little extra.
