Leash FAQ
What length leash do I need?
About the same length as your board. If your board is between sizes, go to the next size up (a 6'6" board takes a 7 ft leash). Don't go more than 1 ft longer than the board.
Thin or thick cord?
Thinner cords have less drag and suit small waves. Thicker cords are stronger and less likely to snap in bigger, heavier surf.
What leash should a beginner use?
Creatures of Leisure recommends a thicker 7 to 9 mm cord for beginners. A leash up to 1 ft longer than the board keeps you a little further from it when you fall.
