LOST DRIVER3.0
Your everyday board from small gutless surf to fun surf. The Driver 3.0 is
designed to work where other performance shortboards get stuck.
How It Surfs
- Wide point set back between your feet creates a hip that makes the board really
easy to turn - Quick off the bottom and wraps around when you put it on rail
- Low tail rocker makes it fast down the line
- Doesn't get hung up like other performance boards. Excels where they fail
Cole Houshmand and Kade Matson both rode these to qualify for the World Tour.

LOST DRIVER 3.0
WHAT IS THE DRIVER 3.0 SURFBOARD?
The Lost Driver 3.0 is the high-performance shortboard that the entire Lost team rode to victories on the World Tour — refined over three years to be the sharpest, most capable version of the Driver yet. If you want a board that rewards commitment and unlocks your best surfing in quality waves, this is it.
Evolution of a Champion
Since the launch of the Driver2.0 in 2019, our team has consistently pushed the boundaries of what is possible. With input from top-tier surfers like Griffin Colapinto, Kolohe Andino, and Yago Dora, we've refined the design to deliver unparalleled performance.
Key Features
- Slightly more tail rocker: Increased maneuverability and responsiveness.
- Deeper double to single concave: More lift and speed through the rear half.
- Scooped out deck line: Lower, boxy rails for seamless water entry.

dims and volumes
- Griffin Colapinto: 5'11 x 28.50 liters
- Yago Dora: 5'11 and 6'0 x 29.50 liters
- Kolohe Andino and Crosby Cola: 5'11 x 29.00 liters
The Ultimate Driver Machine
The DRIVER3.0 is the culmination of years of refinement and evolution. With its performance-driven design and proven track record, it's the ultimate tool for high-level surfers seeking a competitive edge.
WHO
The Driver 3.0 was designed for surfers who are ready to push performance shortboarding to its limit.
- Advanced surfers who surf with power and commitment and need a board that keeps up
- Competitive surfers looking for the same platform that qualified Cole Houshmand and Kade Matson for the World Tour
- Experienced intermediates who have outgrown more forgiving shapes and are ready to step into a true high-performance board
- Surfers who want a board they can grow into — one that rewards technique and improves as your surfing improves
This is a board for surfers who want to drive hard off the bottom, attack the pocket, and feel the difference a pro-level shape makes.
WHEN
The Driver 3.0 is built for waves with shape and power — the days when performance shortboarding actually comes alive. It handles waist-high to well overhead, and finds its best form when the surf has some push and the waves give you something to work with. In Hawaii, it's the board for when the ocean steps up and you want a shape that can match it. It's not a small-wave board, but it won't leave you behind on a good overhead day either — the more generous dims and forward volume mean it paddles efficiently and gets into waves earlier than its race-tuned proportions suggest.
WHAT
The Driver 3.0 is defined by a set of deliberate design moves that work together to generate speed and control in powerful surf. The tail carries more rocker than its predecessor, and the deeper double-to-single concave through the rear half converts that curve into lift and drive. The deck is scooped in the tail section, with lower, boxy rails that follow the bottom contour and engage the water cleanly on rail. A narrower hip between the feet tightens the outline for grip and stability when you're pushing hard into turns.
To balance those performance-oriented tail refinements, the board carries more width and volume in the forward section. The nose outline is slightly wider, and the foil is thicker along the stringer line — which means the paddle is strong and the wave entry is forgiving without softening any of the tail's responsiveness. The round tail is wide and confidence-inspiring under the rear foot, with just enough pull-in at the tip to hold through critical, committed surfing. PU construction gives the board the traditional flex, feel, and weight that high-performance shortboarding has been built on for decades.

POLYURETHANE CONSTRUCTION
PU construction. Traditional polyurethane foam with polyester resin — the standard for high-performance shortboarding. Available with FCS II or Futures fin system.
This was started in the early 60s and to this day is an industry standard. It’s just one of those rare times where we got it right the first time. Polyurethane blank can have a density as low as 2 lbs which is Ultra Light Foam or as high as 12 lbs which is Tow Foam. There are several densities between these but you have to figure out what is the best strength to weight ratio for you.
Obviously, a light board is going to feel the best but it will get destroyed much faster. Can you afford to buy a new short board every two months? A heavy board might last you five to ten years but ride like a slug. Ultra Light Foam is used in the pro short boards and the pro long boards. Since, this foam is light it has the least amount of strength. You should expect to get pressure dings in all boards but this foam will get pressure dings much more frequently.
The best way to reduce pressure dings is to add an extra layer, deck patch or tail patch. Look at the board you have now and see where the most pressure dings are. That is probably where you need a patch. If you are heavy on your back foot a tail patch is fine. If you are heavy only on your front foot a front foot patch is all you need. You may want a ½ deck patch or even a 2/3 patch. There is no sense in a full extra layer unless you are nose riding or looking for a heavier board.
More layers of lighter fiberglass cloth is stronger than an equal weight of less layers. For example, a triple 4oz deck is 12 oz of glass. A double 6oz deck is 12 oz of glass but the triple 4oz deck is going to be much stronger. This is why a deck patch is the best way to reduce pressure dings.
S-cloth is a stronger stiffer cloth than traditional E-glass. It costs more than regular E-cloth but is much stronger for overall strength of the board. If you are breaking boards, you may want to spend a little more on s-cloth for your next board. S-cloth does help in reducing pressure dings but the strength of S-cloth really shines in the over strength of the board. You only need to use S-cloth on the lapping layers to get the benefits of S-cloth.
If you are breaking boards and do not want to spend more money you can ask the laminator to cut bigger laps. This is no additional charge because the excess fiberglass is thrown away. The bigger lap will create a bigger I-Beam on the rail. It will add a little more weight. Most customers ordering big guns will request big laps along with layers of S-cloth.
Another option if you are worried about breaking a board is order a thicker stringer or triple stringer. More lumber equals more strength. It also equals more weight. Most stringers are 3/16 to ¼ inch. US blanks will usually have 3/8 stringers in stock and sometimes ½ inch in stock.
Epoxy is another option for adding strength. Epoxy laminations will add $75 to $200 to the cost of the board depending on the size. Epoxy laminations must be cooked in an oven to cure. If you laminator did not cook your epoxy board it is not cured. This defeats the purpose of spending more money for epoxy.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
What’s the primary difference between the Driver 2.0 and Driver 3.0?
The Driver 3.0 is a meaningful evolution, not just a refresh. The 3.0 has more tail rocker, a deeper double-to-single concave through the rear half, a narrowed hip, and a scooped-out deck in the tail. These changes make it more responsive and better suited to waves with real power and shape. The 2.0 is more skatey and loose — great for a wider range of conditions. The 3.0 holds in harder and rewards surfers who commit fully to their turns. If you surfed a 2.0 and want more precision in quality surf, the 3.0 is the natural step.
Is the Driver 3.0 too advanced for me?
The Driver 3.0 is a true high-performance shortboard. It's not designed to forgive poor foot placement or lazy surfing — it wants you to drive it. That said, the dims are more generous than most WCT boards (wider nose, more forward volume, more overall float), which means experienced intermediate surfers who surf with purpose can absolutely make it work. If you're surfing performance shortboards confidently and want a board that will push your surfing forward in quality waves, the 3.0 is a legitimate choice. If you're still developing your bottom turn or surf mostly small, soft waves, a more forgiving shape will serve you better.
What skill level are these boards suited for?
Driver 2.0: Ideal for intermediate to advanced surfers seeking progression. Its design forgives minor foot placement errors while rewarding aggressive surfing.
Driver 3.0: Best for advanced surfers due to its demand for precise back-foot control and fin input. It’s less forgiving in small waves but excels in critical sections
What fins work best with these boards?
Driver 2.0: Performs well with medium-to-high rake fins (e.g., FCS II Julian Wilson Large) for drive and pivot.
Driver 3.0: Requires high-rake, performance-oriented fins to leverage its tail rocker and responsiveness. Users report improved control with stiff carbon-fiber fins
How do they handle different wave conditions?
Driver 2.0: 2–6 ft Mushy to steep waves; versatile for small-barrel entry and carves.
Driver 3.0: 4–8 ft Steep, hollow waves; thrives in powerful pockets.
What size Driver 3.0 should I ride?
Sizing the Driver 3.0 correctly depends on your current board, your volume, how you surf, and the type of waves you're surfing in Hawaii. Contact us directly and we'll help you dial it in:
