LOST THE RIPPER
The Ripper is Lost Surfboards' modern small-wave performance board — built for surfers who want to go fast and attack every section in average, everyday surf. Inspired by Kolohe Andino and evolved from the beloved Rad Ripper, it strips away the retro influences and delivers a completely contemporary ride.
WHO
The Ripper fits a wide range of surfers who surf regularly and want more out of average conditions.
- The intermediate surfer who has the basics dialed and is ready to start surfing more aggressively off the tail
- The advanced surfer who wants a high-speed daily driver for typical town surf
- The experienced surfer who used to ride a Rad Ripper and wants the same DNA in a more modern shape
- The smaller or lighter surfer who needs a board that generates speed without relying on size or power in the waves
- The surfer who hits the water multiple times a week and wants a board that rewards tail pressure and rewards commitment
This is the board for surfers who want to show up to average conditions and actually have fun instead of just surviving them.
WHEN
The Ripper is built for everyday surf — the kind of waves you see most of the time. It thrives in waist-high to overhead conditions, generating speed on the flatter sections and snapping hard in the pocket when the wave walls up. The low rocker and wide tail block are designed to get the most out of weaker, mushier surf, but the board doesn't fall apart when things get more powerful. For surfers in Hawaii, it handles the full range of what shows up on a typical day in town — from soft rolling lines to punchy, wedgy peaks — without needing ideal conditions to feel alive underfoot.
WHAT
The Ripper's performance comes from a specific set of design decisions that work together. The overall rocker is kept low to build speed early and maintain momentum through flat sections. The entry nose is slightly pulled with a touch of added rocker so the board fits cleanly into tighter transitions without the beak nose of its predecessor. The deck is moderately rolled with lower, softer rails — a major departure from the flat deck and steep rails of the Rad Ripper — giving the board a more forgiving, contemporary feel underfoot. The tail is thinned out with a boxy block and a subtle bump/hip that replaces the old deep fluted wing, retaining plenty of small wave surface area while cleaning up the outline. The bottom runs a single concave through the center that transitions into a deep double concave/vee through the fins and out the tail, creating drive off the bottom and snappy directional response on the way out.
The result is a board that rewards rear foot pressure. The harder you drive off the tail, the more the Ripper responds — snapping, carving, and driving with real intent. Casual surfers will find it easy to use thanks to the built-in speed and smooth rail-to-rail transitions, but the board genuinely opens up for surfers who push it.

CONSTRUCTION OPTIONS
PU (Polyurethane): Traditional poly/polyester build. Heavier than epoxy, sits lower in the water for a more connected, engaged rail feel.
Lightspeed: EPS foam core with carbon fiber stringer and Innegra-infused fiberglass. Lightweight, lively, and adds approximately 2 liters of float over a comparable PU.
Lightspeed II: Updated version of Lightspeed. Refined layup for improved strength-to-weight ratio and flex response.
Double Dart: Full carbon fiber wrap with shortened rail laps and a 4oz fiberglass cover layer. The stiffest, most responsive construction — built for surfers who want maximum pop and feedback.
FIN CONFIGURATIONS
5-fin box. Rides as thruster or quad. Fins not included.
