“The Original Greatest Groveler ever…Digitally Re-Mastered”

The Puddle Jumper is a con-caved, planing surfacer speeder. Domestic bliss with a twist. Based off the outline of the Bottom Feeder, but with reversed bottom and rocker curves. This board, unlike the past Domestic models (like The Bottom Feeder and RV) features a concave bottom that transitions to vee in the tail. The wide outline makes for easy wave catching and down the line glide and stability. The concave bottom adds lift and increased rail curve, which allows radical top to bottom surfing. The straight rail line and vee in the tail keep the board moving forward and hold in during hard carving maneuvers. “This is the most excited I have ever been about a small wave surfboard. Personally, it’s the best small wave board I have ever ridden. I have never made a claim like that about any board before”
– Matt Biolos

LOST PJ PRO OG

WHAT IS LOST PJ PRO OG?

The Lost Puddle Jumper Pro OG is one of the most recognized small wave boards ever made — a proven groveler design that generates real speed and turns in conditions that expose most boards. If the waves aren't cooperating, this board is.

Key Advantages

🌊 Effortless Wave Catching - Significant width, low rocker, and forward outline make paddling and wave entry incredibly easy

Fast & Drivey Performance - Low rocker design with wide nose and tail delivers maximum speed and skating ability on small waves

🎯 Small Wave Specialist - One of the original modern "groveler" specific shapes designed for smaller surf conditions

🔄 Surprising Maneuverability - Hyper-curved rail line rocker transforms flat board into turning machine once put on rail

Technology Behind the Magic

The Lost Puddle Jumper OG represents one of the original modern "groveler" specific shapes that caught fire around the world. The magic comes from the sophisticated rail and bottom engineering designed specifically for small wave performance.

The hyper-curved rail line rocker runs parallel to the stringer near the nose, then exaggerates into a deep single concave that swoops back down to a significant vee under the rear foot.

This high arcing rail line, combined with a double concave vee in the tail, creates the board's signature lively ride quality. There's enough curve in the accelerating rail rocker to loosen up and transform the relatively flat board into a turning machine, especially once put on rail.

The significant width, low rocker, forward outline, with wide nose and tail work together to make paddling, catching waves and skating along on small waves effortless while maintaining the turning potential needed for actual surfing.

WHO

The Puddle Jumper Pro OG is built for surfers who want to surf well when the waves aren't pumping.

  • The intermediate surfer who gets frustrated watching good waves go to waste because their board won't generate speed
  • The experienced shortboarder who wants a dedicated small wave weapon that doesn't sacrifice performance for paddle power
  • The surfer who sessions often and needs a board that makes marginal days worth getting in the water for
  • The heavier or taller surfer who struggles to find a small wave board with enough volume to paddle and still turn
  • The progressing surfer ready to move beyond a beginner board but not yet on a standard shortboard

This board removes the barrier between you and the wave — it paddles into anything and goes from there.

WHEN

The Puddle Jumper Pro OG thrives in small, soft, or inconsistent surf where generating speed is the challenge. It's designed for the days when the wave isn't doing the work for you — when you need the board to create momentum out of nothing, link sections, and give you something to work with top to bottom.

Hawaii's south-facing shores regularly deliver the kind of knee-to-chest high, rolling surf this board was made for. Surfers who get in the water consistently, not just on the best days, will get more out of this board than almost anything else in their quiver.

WHAT

The Puddle Jumper Pro OG is built around a wide, full outline drawn from the Bottom Feeder — then completely rethought with a concave bottom and reversed rocker curves. The result is a board with a flat rocker center line that skates across mushy sections and generates down-the-line speed effortlessly, while the exaggerated rail rocker allows the board to pivot and drive off the top when you put it on rail. The single concave transitions to vee in the tail — that combination creates lift under the front foot on takeoff and drive and hold under the rear foot when you're pushing through a turn. The wide tail block and straight rail line keep the board moving forward rather than spinning out.

The Blacksheep construction uses a 1.5-pound EPS core wrapped in a tri-directional carbon fiber deck layup — with carbon running nose to tail and at opposing 45-degree angles — over a double-layered fiberglass bottom. Carbon is kept to the deck only, stopping at the rails to preserve torsional flex. The result is a board that's noticeably light, lively, and responsive without going stiff. It has the snappy, energetic feel that makes small waves fun rather than frustrating.

BLACKSHEEP CONSTRUCTION

Lost's tri-directional carbon fiber deck construction over a 1.5 lb EPS core with double-layered fiberglass bottom. Carbon stays on the deck only — rails remain fiberglass for flex and durability.

Matt Biolos and the team at LOST Surfboards have introduced their innovation in surfboard construction: Black Sheep Technology.

This groundbreaking approach to carbon fiber construction delivers an electric, lively feel while maintaining durability and performance.

The defining feature of Black Sheep boards is their unique tri-directional carbon fiber deck wrap. Unlike traditional carbon constructions, this specialized layup uses three distinct directional layers: one running nose to tail and two at opposing 45-degree angles. This configuration creates a responsive flex pattern while preventing the board from becoming too stiff.

"We wanted to make a really pliable, forgiving, lively kind of playful construction," explains Biolos. The construction keeps carbon only on the deck, stopping at the rails to maintain torsional flex and prevent the board from becoming overly rigid.

Each Black Sheep board features:

  • 1.5-pound EPS core
  • Double-layered fiberglass bottom
  • Tri-directional carbon fiber deck
  • Non-crimp weave technology for optimal strength

The result? A lightweight, responsive board that maintains durability while delivering performance in various conditions. Pro surfers are already embracing the technology, with extensive testing at wave pools and in ocean conditions showing promising results.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

What's the difference between the Lost Puddle Jumper Pro OG and the original Puddle Jumper?

The original Puddle Jumper and the Pro OG share the same wide outline and core bottom design — the single concave to vee, the flat center rocker, the full tail block. The Pro OG is the current updated version of that original shape, refined with tighter tolerances and available in modern constructions. If you're familiar with the original Puddle Jumper's feel, the Pro OG rides the same way. It's the same design DNA, not a departure from it.

Is the Puddle Jumper Pro OG good for intermediate surfers, or is it more of an advanced board?

It works well for both, but for different reasons. Intermediate surfers benefit from the paddle power and easy wave entry — the wide outline and volume make it forgiving to learn on in smaller surf. More advanced surfers use it as a dedicated small wave tool when they want performance out of conditions that wouldn't reward a standard shortboard. The board doesn't require perfect technique to get going, but it rewards surfers who can use the concave and vee to drive through turns. The Blacksheep construction's lively flex pattern suits surfers who already have their fundamentals down.

What size Puddle Jumper Pro OG should I ride?

Sizing a groveler like this depends on your current board volume, your surfing frequency, your wave type, and what you're trying to get out of it. We recommend reaching out directly so we can help you nail it down:

When you reach out, include your current board dimensions and volume, how often you surf, the type of waves you typically ride (beach break, reef, point break), and your location. Location also helps us give you accurate shipping information and options.
